They used to be free samples on the counters of some stationary stores. I have 3 blotter cards form the 30's and 2 from the 50's that my grand-dad used. It is very usefull on checks and other close pore media.
My dad got me my first when I was in 3rd grade and my writting was less than grotesque using a bic stick "yuuuukkkkkkk" The blotter card absorbs the excess ink from paper by placing the card over the ink and all you do is pass your hand over it a couple of times. I've taken much knowledge and have met some great people here and I have been feeling bad for not contributing more.
